What is a day in the life of a FA Case Manager / Social Worker?
- You will provide assessment and counselling to clients who have experienced trauma, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord, and complex orthopedic injuries
- You will interface with the medical, legal and insurance systems
- You will connect clients with a variety of relevant community-based resources and services
- You will advocate for and help clients access community-based resources that would improve their well-being
- You will monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to rehabilitation goals described in treatment and care plans
- You will provide detailed, comprehensive reports as part of the medical-legal system
- You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and establishing personal networks
What do you need to be successful?
- You are client centered and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team;
- You have strong verbal/written communication skills and have the ability to work with different personalities;
- You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
- You have demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development
- You have a valid Drivers License and access to a vehicle;
Qualifications:
- You have a Masters Degree in Social Work
- You are a member in good standing with the College of OCSWSS
- Strong knowledge and competence with a variety of clinical treatment modalities
- MVA experience is considered an asset
- Case management and/or family counselling experience is an asset
