Last week FunctionAbility was proud to be a co-sponsor of the 2nd Annual Best Practices Post-Trauma Community Integration conference. We brought together experts in Ottawa to present best practices related to trauma and stress. This conference provided education to support patients dealing with mental health issues, including mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder.  Treatment approaches and building our patients’ resilience, as well as mental behavioural CAT definitions were priority topics.

We are so grateful for the passionate health care leaders that shared informative presentations, and all the participants that engaged in reflective discussions. There were also incredible exhibitors that provided us all with booths full of up to date relevant resources in our community. It was a day of excellent networking among hospital and community providers, as well as legal representatives.  We found it was a gathering of like-minded people committed to developing understanding and trust that will benefit our patients. Our goal was excellence in trauma rehabilitation, it was an incredible day in Ottawa!

Thank you all who attended from Ottawa and throughout Ontario, we look forward to seeing you all again in November next year.
